buell xb12r or gsxr

I ride a 92 fzr 600. After riding it for about a year I feel like I've
outgrown it.
Then you aren't riding it right. Unless you've got a current AMA number and
we'll be seeing you on Speed Channel tomorrow?

I want to get a bike that's a bit more powerful, a bit faster, handles
better and also looks decent.
Well, considering what you've got, that means nearly EVERYTHING.

Also something not high end expensive. I'm looking for something
that's more fun to ride.
FZR600's are pretty fun. Tires are probably and off size, forks are a little
skinny, but still, last one I rode was plenty fun.

I like the buell xb12r and the gsxr 1000. Does anyone have any
I ride with four Buell guys and they have no complaints.
Please....I don't get it, nearly all of us ride bikes which will wheelie
ACCIDENTLY, let alone on PURPOSE, and you are surprised that someone could
sit somewhere else on the bike while this is all happening?
No way Mike... we all harbor complaints with our bikes... mine is weight and
that only 50 were imported into the USA... yours is quirky handling...
His Buell left him stranded when the belt snapped after on 7500 miles... since
the dealer wanted to charge for a new belt plus labor he went into his own
pockets and bought new chain and sprockets... he also added that a lot of things
break that never seem to be covered under warrantee... or may they just shake
apart... I don't remember... at any rate he was tired of being last among his
GSXR friends and was only looking forward in selling the Buell... it's sad when
someone is not happy with their bike...
Agreed. It's worse when someone is displeased with ANOTHER person's bike.

As long as you're aware of the risks and consequences, just ride what you
like, and hopefully like what you ride.
And if you can't be with the one you love...honey love the one your
with...
Quoting Stephen Stills now.Saddle must be out of material. Hows about
just getting the Buell and not worry about the plastic clotch lockets
from a forsaken land.:-)

opinions on comparing theese two.
Yeah. One is a pretty way powerful sportbike, and the other is a
streetfighter and makes less power than modern 600's, which is to say, not
alot more than your fzr600. Pretty wild comparison though...you sure you
know what either of these are....or can do to you?
These two bikes are totally different animals. For street riding the
Buell wins hands down. Lower insurance rates, better lowend
torque,better gas mileage,better comfort,superior looks and superior
ease of maintenance. Find a used one and save big bucks. Also, for
every one Buell you see on the road you will see 25 gixxers.
Admittedly I am a bit biased. If you go to your local Buell\HD dealer
they will let you take the Buell for a test ride. Unfortunately your
local Suzuki dealer will not let you test one of their Gixxers. Once
you test ride the Buell I don't think you will consider the Gixxer.
That's a US thing though Mike, has nothing really to do with Suzuki. I
have not yet found any dealer no matter what brand here in Germany
that does not let you test ride their bikes or even rent one.

Sure, the local Yamaha Dealer here in Fulda is not going to let you
test ride their 16,000 R1 that comes pre-modded with a complete öhlins
suspension and a whole bunch of other stuff. But if you want to take a
normal R1 for a test ride or even rent one for a couple days or a
week, no problem.

Same goes for all the others.
You know you are not going to think right when run a bike in a closed space.
So open the door, get some air and try again.
I ride with both and the Buell rider complains about low power and low
reliability... whereas the GSXR rider complains about unwanted wheelies and
Low reliabilty? Be specific Larry.

shredded tires...
They don't complain about high insurance rates?

Sorry the Buel can't do wheelies or shred tires. It does come apart on it's
own for easy disposel. Good thing right.

Doubt all you like. I've ridden both. It's silly even comparing them.
The Gixxer is a totally different class, MUCH MUCH faster. My nephew has
an '04 Gixxer1K. Insanely fast.
