65 miles in the rain..........
|
on the Buell today. I just pulled in. It was a little rough but, i did
it. No fairing,no wind protection,no problem. The bike was soaked and
not one single hiccup. About 44 degrees. There was some pretty good
wind gusts too. The rear tire slid sideways on me once on take off. No
problem. The Cyclone is a great touring bike. I did 500 miles this
past week which is a record for me.

Cool, now do 500 miles in a single day BEFORE you go
on your big trip to Florida. You'll get a better idea of what
to expect.
|
I did a 400 mile day a couple of years ago. The 65 miles in the rain
and wind gusts was more difficult. I could not see and no gas station
had RainX. Just glad I made it home in one piece.

Please you think a little bit of rain is bad? Give me a break...
Try snow and ice at 70mph, then get back to me....

You should be fine on a long trip. The practice is good for breaking
in your seat. By that I don't mean the bike's seat. Padded bicycle
shorts are good to wear under your moto gear. I think we're about the
same age. I did 350 miles on the sport bikes pretty routinely. It was
painful but possible. 350 on an upright bike should be a breeze.

Wow....your bike ran for all of 65 miles in the rain! Yeah...I'd be amazed
too....
|
7 months of sitting to be precise. After it was crashed at 60mph.
Cost me $16 for a handlebar and $22 for a new shifter lever.
Let me know how expensive your next 60mph get off is. And how your bike is
doing after it sits immediately afterwards for 7 months.
I didn't even break a BULB on the thing.

500 miles in a week? I have done allot more than that on a weekend, just
screwing around!
