It's Alive!! The Buell, I mean.

Drinks are on me. I just finished the Chopper Buell project.
Thanks for the Wild Turkey 101.

Started in February this year and fired it Wednesday. Took it
for it's first ride today. 50 miles later and everythings still in place,
Saw the pics, looks good Frito. Nice job!
Looks great to me. Much better than some of the $150K "customs" that
I've seen (on TV!). I bet it's a lot more ridable too.

haven't lost any parts yet. I was little concerned cause I'd never
Fantastic! Good on ya!

Hope you have tens of thousands of miles of fun with it.

ridden a rigid before, but now I can say it's not all that different
than the original M2 configuration. I have two problems to address
and am open to suggestions & advice. I have a drip from the tranny
vent. On the M2 the vent line went way up under the seat with a
3 inch turn down on the end. Now I have the vent coming right off
tranny and then turning down. Before I had a drip only after high
speed distance riding, I'm guessing the cure be will to add length
back to the vent line and go vertical for a ways before turning
back down. The most important issue is running only on the front
cylinder on a cold start. After the first start up and all the associated
lifter noise from the engine setting for 6 months, the rear jug refused
to run. I checked for vacum leaks, it is sparking, but looks weak,
as does the front jug. New plugs got it going, but the problem came
back this morning on the first start. I got the rear jug to pick up by
pulling the plug wire a littleand letting the spark jump to the plug.
After warming up I ran it the rest of the day with no issues. I'm
thinking a new coil and wires might be in order. All in all it's been
a very satisfying day. First time I've ever completely dissassembled,
fabbed parts, and then assembled a bike. It's been a great adventure.

Ya'll have another on my tab........................

Pics next door and on my site.
fito,

Has a bit of Exile look about it. Feel free to post a few close ups. Nice
job!
Very nice. Looking forward to an IRL with it next month.
Frito, Nice job on the Buell.
Hope to see it in person someday.

Peace
Milo
What have you done to that poor Buell?!
What can I say? To quote Big Al from Bitterend Choppers.
"Choppin' ain't easy, but it's necessary"

It's looks have changed, but the Buell's still in there somewhere.
You can find it with just a twist of the wrist.
Looks great, long and lean.
