I wish I could have rode the hd like the bmw, there is just no
comparison in suspension, remember how bad I would hurt after the trip
on the FLHT ?
I can ride this LT all day long same with my GSA

Thanks for the links. I'd be really annoyed if this happened. One of
the great American icons of our time should not be owned by a Japanese
company. And I'm not even American.
|
Harley being owned by a big conglomerate that would likely attempt to
improve margins by cutting costs, resulting in lower quality,
disenfranchising their loyal customer-base, and weakening their brand. That
move would be as dumb as throwing a big 100th anniversary bash and having
Elton John as a main act!
OTOH, in 10 or so years we could all get new "The Eagle Flys Alone" t-
shirts.

Yea, anyone remember AMF? That worked out pretty good, NOT!

Interesting, especially since Honda's subsidiary Showa builds (or did) the
H-D forks. Wonder whatever happen to the strike at the Mo-Co. Resolved?
Maybe the hopes of the Mo-Co entering the Chinese market didn't fly as they
had hoped. Our local H-D dealer expanded at the company's request and he's
a bit peeved his sales are lagging this year. Used bike sales are lagging
as well.
Aside, I did find out today from our local Polaris Victory dealer they are
moving to take on the BMW brand at their shop. They expect it to be
approved by BMW within two months as they are now servicing the CA CHP
bikes.
This should be an interesting year.

first ride down to "my" BMW dealer and ride a GS with me, we need
someone else that is not afraid to ride and enjoys off the beaten path
area's to have lunch and or picnics up here!
the GS even likes riding down a stream or three

There has been a rumor that Harley was considering buying Ducati. Ducati
seems to think that would be a good thing. Now we have Honda thinking about
buying Harley. I think Vespa is actually on the move to buy all 3. They
would then bring out one bad assed scooter.
|
I've seen the prototype of it. Sporty engine. If anyone's interested,
I'll locate the pics...

That brings together all the things we need in two wheeled
transportation......... A ball cooking, cracked frame, two wheeler that needs
the valves adjusted every few thousand miles, runnin' around on 12" wheels! Who
needs progress, we got HonDucVespa Davidson!
