Tire source
|
I few weeks ago Grumbler turned me onto a good source for tires. I just
got a set of Dunlop E3's from these guys for $194, included shipping.
YMMV.

And we can only say your post is at most, anecdotal since there is no
information backing up your claim... such as price including shipping, and
is your price for front and rear... etc... compared to other outlets.
Or maybe your intention wasn't to help, but just be in the conversation?
|
Ouch, you really need a ride Len your starting to sound like someone
else here.
|
I thought you were headed to AZ?
|
Yeah, me too. Long story short: budget cuts stopped the position from
being funded.
|
|
|
well that still leaves some to be desired
go test ride a R1200GS or R1200RT before you buy, they are both
lighter and more nimble, the new R1200RT actually has a better riding
position as well does the R1200GS
|
All about $$. I can get a nice RT-P for around $5,000.

Did you take that as a slap?
Wasn't my intention...
If I'm slappin', I think the slappee's gonna know.
Just wanted some *real* life statistical information so others can make an
informed decision. Especially since prices on most things vary so much
because of shipping, specials, etc...
I'm betting Old Crow will still have a drink on me.

Hell if YOUR buying I'll have a drink!

Hesos Christo, Len. Somebody give me a spoon.
$173.65 for a MT90-16 rear and a MM90-19 front , shipped to Arkansas.
You're welcome.
SNPA's for the room!
|
|
Well I was gonna go for "rotund", but I thought "portly" showed a bit
more respect. One thing I got, it's lots of respect.
Insert prn.
|
But for everyone else, going online to each vendor and working up their own
price is still the *only* way to find out. Spoon, down.

cheaper(today):
|
looks like they have good prices, even over the me880's for our BMW's
what is their shipping like?
|
Curiously enough, the last time I got tires, Donelson was the
cheapest.
I've had good service from Donelson over the years, and they were
always a couple or three bucks cheaper, but not any more. Now,
they're higher than AMT, Southwest, *and* Ron Ayers.
I was looking up E3's, other brands might cause your mileage to vary.

I think I got mine from these folks too , they ship fast , and it was
reasonable . Tires arrived with Drag Spec stickers ...

Yup, my mileage varied. $192.45, but I'm closer so I guess the shipping was
less.
Just brought the bike home this very minute with those tires. Felt very
comfy indeed.

save a few more bucks buy two shipping is free
|
I went there, $200.90 for front & rear... even with free shipping, my
$192.45 still beats it...
neener, etc....
|
hmm maybe I should check Ayers again, they were always higher before
|
When I shopped a year ago, americanmoto was the cheapest between them,
ayers and swmoto.
YMMV on the shipping costs.
|
$194.34 with 25.20 in shipping... that seems like a lot for shipping. But
all the prices I've been quoting have been the cheapest shipping to my home
address in NJ. (trying to compare apples and apples sort of).
ASSHOLE#104 Len
So, it's still Ron Ayers for best delivered price.
|
yup that works then, there is a place in CalifornIcation that runs
real close i check every now and then as well

I'm still trying to figure out how to get those little nipples off the
side.......
|
uh keeping up with me and Jeff would help!
|
|
It's really time consuming, but well worth the effort when you're standing
around comparing scooters with your bros at the local watering hole.
Get it up on a lift, so you can spin the wheel/tire easily.
Have a bro spin the wheel, and you can have a sand block to press against
the tire.
It's a lot of fun when the bro's sit around a drink beer and sand your tires
to look like they've been run on the twisties.
Just be careful of the grit of the paper.
Too much and you can take some ugly chunks out of your tire, and your bros
will tease you.
Not enough, and you'll spend too much time on the tire and not enough time
posturing at your favorite water hole.
BE VERY CAREFUL TO NOT DO THIS WITH THE BIKE RUNNING AND IN GEAR ON A LIFT.
Booboo did it and when the bike fell off the lift, it really took a chunk
out of his wife's Porche, as is shot across the garage.
We all laughed.
Out lode.

Tom's first act whenever we go down there is to check our tires for
"chicken strips". I have yet to pass his little inspection. Jeff did
okay last time. Right after this "inspection" I dropped Jeff's bike at
the top of Tom's driveway.
Of course we could not get him to go riding with us.
|
|
I went down to GA but I kept dropping the bike.
|
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
|
Thought you'd like that!
|
see ya this year?
|
The plan is the same as last year. Be down there in June. I *may* have a
new job shortly and I'm not sure what restrictions will be placed on
vacations yet.
Jeff is talking about a trip out west through Wyoming etc.
|
so he is not coming here?
|
I think it's all up in the air right now. I know that if I commit to
going he will too.

and Ron Ayers is only about 30 minutes from where I am in Rocky Mount....
but then I'd have to pay for gas and NC tax, instead of shipping... shipping
is cheaper.
