BMW R100 Mystic wanted
|
I'm looking for a 1995/6 BMW R100 Mystic in good nick with less than
20,000 miles on the clock.
Don't care about tyres or brake pads and other consumables, but the
bike must be a good'un, well looked after and serviced regularly and
hopefully a one owner example.
Prepared to pay good cash for the right bike.
Anyone know of such a beast.
I'll be in the UK from 3 May and will be able to inspect....or have
someone inspect on my behalf.

That's quite a rare bike to find and they go for quite serious money.
Autotrader currently shows two R100R's.

A mate had one and called it his BMW Mistake. Slow, thirsty, not that
well braked. Handled nicely, thobut.

The most delightful handling and lovely brakes - OK, not the fastest,
but the engine characteristics make it a beautiful bike to ride.
I was only thinking as I nailed the Zed to the stop a couple of days
ago, that there's a lot more to motorcycling than out and out speed, and
those that criticise a bike simply because it won't do lots+ have
perhaps missed the point.
Certainly the Zed is far faster, brakes better and handles better than
the Harley or the Beemer, but I don't think I could say that it's more
enjoyable to ride, in fact I'd argue the opposite.
So the Mystic isn't Gixxer fast, but IMO it's none the worse for it.
Fuel consumption is pants though.

IIRC dynojet did a kit which improved it by 10mpg

That's all BMWs, isn't it?

You are Lozzo AICMFF lives back

Uhhh no! They have the same brakes as the K1100.

Ah. My bad. I know he had a list of grumbles, but obviously not that
one.
