New Victory
I have the feeling a lot of people will either love it or hate it.
Hrmm. The Rune comes to mind for some reason.
The Rune was beautiful! This thing looks like something out of a bad
I bet you say that to all the girls.
Whoa! Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder! ;-)
The Rune was the first bike I've ever openly laughed at when I first
saw one IRL. The sales guy at the Honda dealer started laughing along
with me (as he secretly agreed with me).
This Victory is the second bike that made me laugh, though I still
haven't seen one IRL...
Head on it is BMWish - Not bad looking with the exception of the round
hole.
If the back didn't end in suc a point it would not be too bad. The
section I have the biggest visual problem with is the side view.
Two problems with the side-view:
The highlighting of the engine (while I don't have a problem with that
in theory), this openess seems incongruous with the rest of the
streamline body work design.
That's a good point! You can't exactly make a cruiser all covered
with plastic (like my ST1100, or the Honda PC) because the engine is
an important styling element in a cruiser. We already have
water-cooled V-twin cruisers with fake cooling fins, etc. Cruisers
can look 'new and different' only to a certain extent, they are still
beholden to that circa 1930 Harley/Indian model.
Thr front half of the bike seems rather short - maybe that real long
tail section makes it appear disproportiante to me.
I have to admit - I think the thing could grow on me.
I'm sure if you had one you'd LOVE it.
The problem I thingk I'd have is the seating position. It looks to be
the same seating position as the Venture, and large HD's.
I have not found that particularly comfortable on long trips.

Loath it...hate if for when you stop loving and
hire a lawyer.
For me, a "motorcycle" looks like a Harley
or Indian made during Eisenhower's term.
I guess that's your thing, but there are great motorcycles that look
as futuristic as this one.
Sci-fi styling aside, I have a few questions:
* Where do you bolt on the saddle bags,
tour pack and luggage rack?
Ummm- both models already have hard side bags and the touring has the
trunk as well.
* Where do you bolt on a windshield?
Probably like the BMW's it is an electrically adjustable windshield
the attachements currently hidden by the front of the bike.
* How do you install roll bars in case you drop
the thing?
Appears to have that integrated - though until I see it in person I
can't be sure - see that chrome justting out near the floorboards -
but in front.
* Where is the passenger supposed to sit?
What is the passenger supposed to hold on to
and lean back against?
A. On the passenger seat.
B. The Grab Rails
C. If you get the touring model it has a backrest/trunk
otherwise there will probably be a sissy bar available for the other
model. It MIGHT even be integrated - looking at the street model the
rear fender has a hatch shape on it - might be a folding backrest.
* How do you stick on a rear fender?
It has a huge rear fender
* How would I install staggered duals?
I think they are trying a little too hard with this one.
Looks like the were by Bandai Toy. A company from Japan!

Alex, the Double-Jepardy question is :
What happens when you leave a Ducati and a 'Wing alone in the
garage for the weekend ?
Can you say 'expensive plastic' ???
Without the luggage box
Is it my imagination, or does it look kind of like a sperm on wheels ?
Dunno about that: I love the rear 2/3 of the bike, but they don't mesh well
with the front end.
Why, that's ugiler than my GT.
Well, let's not get ridiculous.
Me rediculous? Impossible.
Ugly is what ugly is.
Here's what I would call rediculous.

Too much fiberglas and streamlining.
Yep, and I'm one of them.
Well, which is it Beav? Do you love it or hate it?
It doesn't say how fast the new Victory will go. I doubt it will meet your
acceptable standard of 150 MPH.
You own it and you don't know for sure?
Shame on yer:)
It looks overpriced. Nice lines.
That thing is stunning and not in a good way. It looks like it was designed
by Picasso (if Picasso was still alive and designed motorcycles...while
smoking crack).
