Fading BMW logo

I just bought a 1987 K75c, a great bike.
Congrats! It -is- a wonderful bike.

The 3 logos are all sort of faded though. They seem to have this layer
of clear stuff over them, that has turned orange-yellow, making the
entire logo look sort of like it has a filter over it.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I'd really like to have those bmw
logos shiny and clear if I can!
It's more than likely to be cheaper buying new badges than it would be to
make the old ones look like new.
I had an '86 K75C ( I still miss her ;^( with the same logo problem.
If I remember right, what I did was get something like a knife blade
under the edge of the clear stuff and it peeled right off.

I think.

Otherwise, Bob's BMW has a huge assortment of logos to choose from and
you can probably find the right size to fit and stick it on over the
one you just wrecked with your knife (PLEASE don't blame me; I was
relying on my memory -- a bad thing to do at my age ;^)

pooder was here . . . or was he?

any help greatly appreciated.
Personally I think they look cool that way.

I don't think you can fix them, but you can buy new badges. They're
not even that expensive, like $5 each. They are self-adhesive, you
peel the paper off the back and stick 'em on (at least that's how it
was with the tank badges on my airhead).
