Vic L/P/licence restrictions
|
Anyone know when you can get off the capacity restrictions in Vic?
Is it 12 months after you get your L's, or 12 months after you get
your full licence?
Have been talking to the folks at vicroads today, and they have
contradicted what they have said earlier, and whatr was told to me by
the license tester.
Result - I'm now more confused than ever...

Capacity restrictions are automatically lifted 12 months after obtaining your P's. If you don't already hold a full car licence then
you must display your P plates for 3 years. If you do have a full car licence you are not required to display P plates at all.

Does anyone know if the same applies (under vic regs) for someone going
the other way (ie full bike licence but no car licence, wants to get car)

You only have to serve your probation period once.
|
That's a period of restriction, not probation.
|
To be pedantic, is was termed probation in the paperwork.

And here I was all ready for a BMW 650 GS.
Guess it will have to wait for another 10 months. :(

Various groups have been raising the LAMS issue for Victoria when and where
possible, and responses seem to have changed from 'wha' to 'NO!' to 'we're
looking at it'.
I wouldn't expect anything for a few years though...
