Labour rates ..
Just wondered what was the general charges per hour by dealer and
independant workshops around the country (bikes and cars)?
Just had the oil and filter and coolant changed in my car and was pleasantly
pleased to note their labour rate was 25 quid an hour :)
My local HD stealership charges 60 quid / hr.
I don't use them mind!
IIRC BMW Park Lane & BMW Chelsea (Cars) had the highest hourly labour
rates in a recent survey; £155 and £153 per hour, respectively.
Don't know if the survey covered Aston Martin dealerships though, coz
they always used to be the most expensive. For bikes, around £40 p.h. is
the most expensive I've seen, but they were at 2 franchised dealers.
That counts as a very cheap labour rate for a franchised dealer in
London, believe me.

Same as my local mechanic.
Blimey, that's good. In London, you're looking at a minimum of
=A345/hour for most bike shops and a lot more than that for franchised
car dealers, especially the quality brands.
BMW dealer in Cardiff charge about £60 + VAT i.e. over £70 p/h. Apparently
this is cheap by national standards. I think Park Lane charge over £100p/h
and a minor service costs about £250

My rates vary. If I'm working on my own vehicles, I don't charge myself
anything. When working on SWMBO's it's one blowjob/hour.
Sounds fair. I'll come and change the oil on her car next time it
needs doing.
Excellent - I'll get a BJ without having to get my hands dirty. You're
a pal.
If she's any good i'll do the next oil change, takes about an hour i think.
Lucky to get a thank you when i work on the wife's car let alone a BJ.
I can't afford my own hourly rate so I pay someone else to do it.
They're about 40 quid an hour.

£70 an hour at Peugeot in Bridlington (which let's face it, is a bit pikey,
but it's the nearest one) IIRC.
Car dealer £60 ~ £100 an hour.
Bike shop £40 ~ £60 an hour.
Independant £20 ~ £40 an hour.
