Close call.......

I had to laugh......

A mate was blasting up Mt. Messenger on his Aprilia , passing cars on
the back wheel, when he pushed his luck and took a small gap.......no
worries getting through, but the front end came down hard.....so hard
that the left clip-on slid around on the fork leg and jammed into the
fairing......leaving him going in a straight line off the side of the
road, instead of around the corner. He managed to hold it up ans stop in
the gravel, but the look on his face was classic! (as well as the faces
in the car he has just passed!) He reckons he just about shat himself!
Too bad he lived, to continue to endanger people again.
And once more our resident non-rider demonstrates why he's so beloved by one
and all.
So if he had been scared so bad that he never rode again (and perhaps spent his
days posting on reeky) that would not be acceptable to you?

My Aprilia is now off the road with a split in the oil tank. I noticed a
couple of drops of oil under the bike, and when I moved it more (at
least a teaspoon full) spilt from the fairing lowers. When I removed the
fairing panels, the bellypan was dripping in oil. It was only losing a
few drops a day, but they add up quickly. A quick degrease and i parked
it over some cardboard to find where the oil was coming from. It turns
out the top bolt had worked loose and fallen out (I must start using
loctite again!) leaving all the weight on the lower mount, which now has
a hairline fracture next to the weld. No biggy as i work with some
pretty talented people and it's being fixed as a 'homer'.

And.....I'm getting a mates bike for a month while he's over in japan on
an oil-rig......It's a Ural with an aftermarket sidecar attached! I
nearly brought a later model one before I got the Aprilia. Now I can
find out if I made the right choice. The boys are looking forward to an
adventure or two and I'm hoping to get it out to a mates hut on his farm
for a spot of goat shooting from the sidecar.
Is goat shooting a national pastime down under?
Are these feral goats, or do they belong to someone
you don't like?

What will happen when the animal rights activists
get wind of this.
Be sure to post a ride report on the Ural, Brian.

Life is good....... :)
Thank GOD you didn't hurt the sheep. (|;)
Why do you think he's so excited about getting that side-car ?
You *always* hurt the one you love.

(The one you shouldn't hurt at all.)
