The new 'fur'?
|
Remember the 'fur' bikes....well it looks like wide electrical tape
(Black tape used to join plastic sheet) is the new 'fur'. People have
been using it to change the appearance of their bike from week to week,
so I'm going to give it a go and 'black out' the Aprilia tonight.
From a few yards away, and on the move, you can't see it's just tape.
I'll take some 'before and after' pics.
I may even buy some cheapo Honda stickers.....anything to confuse the
police/traffic wardens and maybe get off a ticket if they enter
incorrect info?

It's been known to work on occasion.
True story: A friend of mine once owned an old English Ford Thames van,
which had lost the chrome "Thames" flash from it's rear fender. One day he
discovered that the chrome "Fender" logo from his guitar amp would fit the
holes perfectly, so he bolted it on (to the fender) and off he went, a
visual pun.
Very next week a cop pulled him over for speeding, and in the Vehicle Type
space on the ticket form wrote down "Fender Van".
My friend took it to court and pointed out to the judge that *his* van was
an English Ford, not a Fender; and it said so right there on his
registration (which the cop had looked at).
Judge let him go.

I once saw a Volvo station wagon that was unnaturally high off the
pavement and had Toyota badges all over. I looked underneath it and saw
what looked like Toyota 4x4 running gear. This was before the Forerunner
came out. I thought it was pretty cool, so I gave the driver a thumbs
up.
