NSW: hike in green slip?

Anyone renewing their green slip might notice a thing called "MSCIS levy"
on it.
This is an extra levy to help long term injured and people injured in
some single vehicle crashes.
When the legislation for it was passed the govt said "Average cost no
higher than $20".

Looks like there's going to be an insurer that has to do them for about
50c to get the average down.. :(

Yesterday I saw 2 greenslips with this levy. One for an Aprilia sportbike
in Gladesville - $73. The other for a Harley registered in Liverpool
for over $270!
If you have renewed and found a levy cost greater than $20, and are
willing to stand up and be counted (as your name and address will be
on file to show it's a real item and not a duplicate) then scan and
email your greenslip showing the levy amount and your name and address
and bike to mccofnsw@ar.com.au or fax it to (02) 9817 8873.
It blown up a very short time before the election, so leverage for
that's limited, but it is also a stick the opposition can use which is
useful.

The MCIS levy for my car rego is $85.93. I'll scan it and email when I
get a chance.

Just got mine in the mail, $55.91 for mine, doesn't explain all of the
$140 increase this year, just part of it. And yes I have shopped around,
all of the rest are at least $100 more then this one.
I'll dig out the scanner and send it off.

Just got my renewal today from QBE & it's $113.99 for the MCIS levy.
